This FREE Teachers Guide for the Freedom’s Warriors supplement can extend deliveries of newspapers up to four weeks .new NIE supplement honors African American activists and humanitarians who worked for change, justice, equality and human rights in the United States and the world. Special attention is paid to Coretta Scott King and to Dorothy Height, who has won wide admiration for nearly 70 years working for race and gender equality, social welfare and economic development. Themed sections look at famous and lesser known civil rights leaders, grassroots organizers, artists, entertainers, politicians, lawyers, academic leaders, writers and athletes. Best of all, the supplement concludes with a challenge to students to become active and involved to improve their communities. This supplement was made possible by the support of Ford Motor Company Fund and includes a quarter-page thank you ad acknowledging the Fund’s support on the inside back cover.
